Early birds?
I heard some Grue fly over on Friday - that's got to be a new record. Didn't know whether to be jubilant or concerned! Although we're still getting night frosts of -3°C, so some of them may be regretting their early migrate!

Early birds?
During a shopping trip this am and travelling between Montigny-le-Roi and Bourbonne-les-Bains in 52 we had a surprise. We were on a busy N road so hurriedly took this photo of these cigognes lined up on posts. There were at least 70 in the field behind the post sitters.
Getting home we looked cigognes up and it seems they move south from breeding grounds to better feeding grounds in august and september. So, it's either that or a town around here has had a massive explosion in the birth rate!
