Would help if we knew where "Around here" is.

I am in Herault, about an hour. Inland from the coast, at about 450m altitude

Looking at Wiki there seems to be a very wide range of markings with blue being more or less prominent. Indeed some are not even black and yellow. The last time I saw one was in Yugoslavia - which in itself says how long ago it was.

We were curious if this salamander would have managed to clamber up on its own. A week later, still trapped in its concrete prison. Escape from Alcatraz with a little help from two friends.
