Sadly there isn’t a pool of police officers, available to attend incidents like these ,they are already overstretched dealing with their other duties

I'm sure you're right Pathca, whatever the UK's ersatz home sekkerterry may dream of. I've never heard of 'insulation protesters' - I had visions of protectively-clothed figures chucking fibreglass bombs.

Well I have to say she is a serially incompetent minister (not unique, sadly). Whether it is illegal migrants in the Channel (daily), Border Force failures at airports (again) or multiple failings of the Police - they are all on her watch.

Sometimes I wonder if she has more in common with Diane Abbott than we realise - is she another one of Boris's conquests?

The Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill looks set to address the antics of XR - but will also cover mothers noisily protesting a playground closure outside their local Town Hall. And it includes prison sentences up to 10 years!

And don't get me onto encryption.

The blame for the polices woes can’t be put exclusively at the feet of the current Home Secretary, but are largely down to actions initiated by Theresa May when she had the job.The only recent HS who had anything like a reasonable approach to the police was Javid whose brother is a high ranking officer and so knew a bit more about what it’s actually like
BoJo made a big thing of stating there was to be 20000 new police officers, neglecting to mention under Conservative rule over 22000 were lost so still in negative figures They are struggling to recruit the new officers anyway and it means there is a glut of inexperienced police whilst the service is haemorrhaging the mid service people who provide the backbone
