@Spardo "I once bought my wife a blow torch so that I could then paint the bedroom for her.

She set fire to the door.  "

Serves you right   - maybe she was being clever and wanted a new door
With this hand, I will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never be empty, for I will be your wine. With this candle, I will light your way into darkness. With this ring, I ask you to be mine.........The Corpse Bride

Pre-marriage guidance for men used to advise that the first time you are asked to do a chore, like hang a picture or put up a shelf, make such a botch you will never be asked again - and a happy marriage ensues.

Mrs S seems to have taken a similar approach - so, Spardo, how many times have you asked her to blowtorch a door since?

Sparkle wrote: Tue Nov 23, 2021 12:30 pm @Pathca oh that is awful - I really would try ironing the wrinkles from his face if he bought me one of those
Fair do , she had said she needed one ,and there was also a very nice present as well
The ironing board at our house in France is one she got very cheap from B&M because it’s a Valentines one and they were selling them off after the 14 of February, because who would buy a Valentine ironing board

Never, but I have never done one myself either, or painted a door. Bare wood is lovely. ;) :)

I must be losing the plot, having looked again on FR and DE I can't find a trace of the machine, possibly I was looking at the Dyson equivalent which is mega money. The vat deduction is possibly the answer to the reduction so I will take another look at it, just didn't want to get stung at the gate by the delivery firm for God knows how much.

Maybe that was my mistake when I bought this:

The thought that occurs to me is that it is likely to arrive with a UK moulded plug. If it is just for charging a cable free hoover then no problem, but if it is for a machine with a cable running directly off the mains, an adaptor is not going to be rated for the power (even though now reduced from the past) and cutting off the plug and putting on a French one will invalidate the guarantee.

If you buy something here with a "euro" style plug, some vendors stick in a free Swiss adapter even though on two-pin plugs it is not required.

Well amazon.fr announced that they were going to stop using plastic packaging and cut down on packages.
I ordered three items on sunday they all came half an hour ago by chronopost in one box, paper around, only plastic is on the items in their makers boxes.
