Wow! All the best for a speedy recovery
How do people live without at least one dog in the house?

The nurses here are absolute angels. But aren’t they always? My last day in ICU, two nurses came in with a Bluetooth speaker and asked me if I wanted music while they washed me. Oui s’il vous plaît. Ah vous êtes anglais. Voudriez-vous écouter les Beatles? Quel est votre chanson préférée ? I requested “The Long and Winding Road”Which they danced to and sang along as they took care of me. Such a tonic. Nurses aren’t paid enough

@rabbit what a lovely experience you had - well I mean just the washing bit not that that came before. Hope you are much better soon.

Nobody in the medical profession is paid enough, and an awful lot of people are paid too much.

Your positive outlook will go a long way in speeding your recovery along. And I agree with you all. Nurses and most of the medical profession in France are not paid enough.

Your nurses sound like such sweet individuals - in a very difficult job (not the washing part).

Back home yesterday. 12 days after open heart surgery. Yesterday an administrator from CPAM presented herself and gave me a list of the appointments she had made for me over the coming weeks. Fantastic service. I can’t praise enough the skill, dedication, attentiveness of care I have received and all in a friendly pleasant manner. As the title suggests the type of tumour in one’s heart is a myxoma- no connection with. myxomatosis but quite apposite!

@rabbit So pleased to hear that and if anyone wonders why we come to live in France then I would say read rabbit's post.
