Or we might just have had a cough or cold if we hadn't had one - who knows.

A very large scientific community Char.

But if you think otherwise please explain the graph in this link.

https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/details ... me=England

The data is for England but is replicated in many countries that started vaccinating towards the end of 2020.

You see two massive peaks in the death rate. Th first as the virus took hold in Spring 2020. The second as the Delta variant took hold over Christmas 2020 - and sadly just too soon for the impact of immunisation to show since the vaccine was only just being rolled out as the variant took hold. After that the death rate has dropped dramatically and remained low.
If you are a vaccine denier then purely by accident this is the period when vaccines were rolled out.
If you are a scientist you will see a high probability of cause and effect. That is: The vaccine has dramatically reduced deaths from Covid.

I don't see why I need to explain anything I'm entitled to my opinion going by my own experience. People I know who have been vaccinated have caught covid with unpleasant symptoms some of whom have died from it, and people I know who haven't been vaccinated haven't.
What those charts show is that for my age group death rates weren't very high, I'm not old yet. What they don't appear to show is how many of those who died were vaccinated and how many weren't.
Social distancing would have had an effect on death rates and also 'allegedly' the new strains of covid aren't as bad as that which was doing the rounds during the time when we were confined to our property and not allowed out without good reason, so the later numbers should in that case be lower anyway.

End of subject as far as I'm concerned, I can't turn the clocks back and go through it all without being vaccinated, so whether or not I would have had been more ill or less I will never know, no matter how many charts I read.
