I'm not sure about super u but our Intermarché sells them at 1.18€, Noz sold them for 97 cents.

The last time I bought Heihnz BB - 5 or 6 weeks ago - they were €1.08 or thereabouts in Super U in Saint Ju. I grab 'em when I see them. I know their bad (full of sugar) but there's nothing to compare! The best (and cheapest) haricots blancs à la tomate are too hard.

I've just grabbed a couple of tins of Heinz Tom Soup @ €2.19 elsewhere they were being sold for €2,68!

To me, Noz is like Marmite. We would not make a special journey to visit Noz but our nearest (30k) has a Leclerc, Action and shoe etc shops close by. I sometimes think "Oh no I can't face the disorder and chaos inside the shop" but other times I feel up for the rummage.

Invariably, I pick up some wines from Noz (only once have they not had any wine), and try the spice cooking sauces and dog treats. I took advantage of the Heinz Beans the other week and picked up two shirts at the same time. I have found Green Kings IPA in the past and, one time, bought the best pair of walking boots I've ever owned.

So, worth a visit I think but you do need to feel up for it.

There's an expat chancer at the boot fairs around here that gets €1.50 a pop. Those beans must be like an addictive drug.

We've had problems finding Weetabix here in France over the last few weeks (not sure if they're pkts of 10 or 12). Thanks for the steer about Aldi or Lidl - we'll give them a go. I've just compared ingredients and nutritional info and they're pretty similar. And I see Aldi does a version of Shredded Wheat - even better, with no sugar or salt !

Does Aldi/Lidl in France sell "weetabix" type cereal? Aldi "shredded wheat" doesn't contain the additives (niacin, folic acid, riboflavin, thiamin and iron) that are in "weetabix" should you consider them essential.
