We have a Passiflora Caerulea growing on the south-facing back wall of our house and also grows very vigorously. I don’t mind it appearing in the lawn as tbe mower keeps it under control, but don’t like it in borders and under shrubs so I try to keep an eye on it. I remove the many seedlings that grow up from the terrace right by the house and pull them out by their roots from there once they are a few inches long.

The P. Caerulea is supposedly edible but I’ve read that it doesn’t taste much, so haven’t bothered trying; other varieties taste good, I’m told.

Those agapanthus look wonderful.

I came back from a trip to New Zealand with memories of agapanthus all over the place, so beautiful, but they are invasive and classed as an environmental weed.

I’ve tried growing them in pots and in very sunny parts of our garden in the UK with very poor results - all I have now is a pot of leaves, unfortunately.

We have occasionally had fruit on the passion flower but as you say, pretty tasteless. We also have agapanthus, light purple ones and white ones. They grow like crazy on the Isle de Brehat, an island just off the coast near Paimpol
