Charlie continues to follow my OH wherever she goes. Lightning is such a friendly and loving soul wanting to be cuddled and rubbing up against us but Sophie remains cautious. She does not crave human touch and while she will ask for food she sets herself firmly on the other side of the dish when she is given it. We have not yet cracked what the problem is since we can walk within 20cm of her and she will not flinch but if we stop as if to try and touch her she becomes very defensive and backs away. Maybe we can change that with time. Maybe she will always be defensive like that. Time will tell.

Charlie has been vaccinated but the other 2 are due their first jabs on Friday. That may prove interesting!

Sounds like she wasn't handled enough in her first few weeks. Upto 6 weeks is a crucial time.

I'm sure she will come round in time, with a lot of patience, as you say.

I am sure you are right MotM2. The surprise is not so much Sophie's caution as the lack of it with Charlie and particularly Lightning. Charlie is perhaps unafraid because she was so young when she arrived here. Lightning must have been handled regularly in the past before he arrived here, yet no one will admit to having lost him.

The red Norwegian Sykes isn't gaining weight quite as much as we thought, but, Sherlock is a greedy pig/cat. I give them raw chicken breast occasionally as a treat and they both love it

If Sherlock is the dominant one, that may well mean that Sykes holds back when food is around.` We have a coupe who tend to hold back at feeding time and need to be given separate and special attention re-feeding. WE equally have a couple who will fill their faces and still want to muscle in when the next pack is opened.
