Rave on!

#1 Post by Bayleaf »

Today's entertainment in our normally very quiet rural area is one of the infamous bi-annual mystery-location Raves. It sounds closer this time - as it's much louder, and has been since about 4am this morning. That, plus more vehicles passing by in two's and three's before first light, means it must surely be somewhere further up the valley.

The police helicopter has been circling overhead a few times, and a couple of Gendarme vans have been going up and down the lanes and tracks around here. But so far, the mysteriously located "music" continues to blast out. I guess that means they didn't get permission!

If I didn't have such a blinding headache (funnily enough from another sleepless night), I might have joined them! 8-)

↑ oh la la  maybe it would be easier to be a part of the jollities? We have a town fete tomorrow and for sure one of our neighbour's son & his friends will have his boom box set up in the garden from around 5pm till 5am 🙀 which I wouldn't mind if I liked their music but..............I don't  A couple of years back before 'C' a neighbour from the other side of our village walked round to see where the noise was coming from and didn't half lay into them - they reduced the volume........ just a little  So windows closed, shutters closed and ear plugs in  I wouldn't rain on their parade cos they're youngsters and it's only once sometimes twice a year.
With this hand, I will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never be empty, for I will be your wine. With this candle, I will light your way into darkness. With this ring, I ask you to be mine.........The Corpse Bride

Unfortunately, the ravers are using the site of an old gold mine - probably broken into the site, where there is toxic waste, amongst other dangers.

So, I think I'll pass!

Wise move Bayleaf.

Cyanide is frequently used to extract gold from its ore.

Still going on. Managed a few hours sleep, music level drops to acceptable for a while, then megabooms across the region. Their ears must be bleeding if right in front of those giant speakers!

One incident of a car stopped in the driveway last night, but just a couple of young girls sorting out their car. We have an old, decorative bicycle growing in amongst the greenery near the bottom of our drive. I noticed someone had had the idea of borrowing it, cough, cough. Joke was on them though, as the tyres are flat, chain rusted, and only one pedal on it! Needless to say, it was dumped less than two metres from where they wrenched it from the undergrowth! 8-)

I remember the odd rave in the forest near where we used to live. I remember driving round trying to get an idea where it was, but just couldn't find it. I can't believe all those people and noise can be so well hidden ... I'm not sure the police want to get involved in dispersing it as it would need too much manpower.

I find the police don't often want to get involved in much of anything to do with what we would call disturbing the peace. 8-)
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.
