Weather ... again

Many years ago I used to take my family when the children were young up to Scotland each year on a caravaning holiday, stayed a couple of times just north of Glasgow, went dinghy sailing on lock long.
Wonderful times we had.
Wanted to purchase a small island just off eastern Islay with a couple of crofts on it to turn into holiday rents but my first wife totally refused, before you think that I was rich, the property was the same price as the one I'd just built for us down in Hampshire.
Then we started to spend the school summer hols touring in France, result being that I have lived here for 37 years.

Making up for all those days when you were all getting a soaking while we remained dry, it has poured all day and is cold enough that the wood burner has been running all day. I cannot remember when I lit it so early in the day.

The sun did come out here this afternoon. There are still dark clouds that come and go and showers too, but I was able to plant several plants and cut lots of weeds around the vines. Yippeee ..

One advantage of the damp weather is that the weeds are so much easier to deal with !

Perhaps I shouldn't mention that we have had a lovely sunny day here, albeit with a good breeze. The washing dried well
After all the rain we've had I think we deserved a small amount of sun.
