I didn't think of that either. See your kitchen topicL Austin France wrote: ↑Sun Mar 26, 2023 6:08 pmI thought it wasn't necessary to invite others to 'show us yours as I've showed you mine' as it always seems presumptuous & never occured to me that members wouldn't reciprocate as they usually do.

I wouldn't bother with a forum that was argumentative and rude. I agree with J that some of us have "known" each other for a long time so can tease without offending.
@L Austin FranceI've had posts/topics looked at with no response, and just assumed people aren't interested. I don't post in the "What are you listening to?" because looking at what's playing there, most of it isn't my style ! It's a bit like people not being interested in the photography section (or the UK one

Compared to almost all other forums I find this one very civilised. At times there are spats (some of which I may have been guilty in being party to) but I sense that these are often due to misinterpretation rather than out and out rudeness.

“I think there is only one member who falls into the "rude" category - it is easiest just to ignore them”…. or make the best of itniemeyjt wrote: ↑Sun Mar 26, 2023 4:09 pm I think there is only one member who falls into the "rude" category - it is easiest just to ignore them.
Otherwise, I think many on here have "known" each other over various past forums - so there is perhaps some leg-pulling resulting from such familiarity - that's all.
Or maybe I just am thicker-skinned and don't take it too seriously. Remember - it's not real life.

Some other forums have small groups of posters that dominate the sites, you see the same names over and over again, frequently with nothing of interest to say or banging on about how dreadful the UK or France are. That doesn't happen here.

I am a member and occasional poster on maybe a dozen or so forums. Four are expat sites and all the rest are music, car, DIY electronics, or tech sites. The expat sites are the only ones I ever encounter rudeness, ridicule, pedantry, or oneupmanship.
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.
