+1 Yonner.
I have been too angry with Hotrodder's post to be able to reply to it.
Thank you for your measured post.

He was reported and it was largely ignored. The idea that women are just after a payoff is highly offensive

Now it's the victims' fault - apparently the only complainants are a 'handful of middle-class women of a certain age'.
Gregg - when in a hole, stop digging. And throw away the Rolf Harris handbook on "How to defend yourself by blaming your victims" - victim blaming didn't work too well for him either.

I think for a long time ‘talent ‘ was rated above women ‘being offended ‘ fortunately that mindset is changing although it still remains evident in some

Its just my opinion, if you don't like it, tough shit.Yonner wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 9:26 pmThat may be a valid point for you, but its inaccurate and misses the point.
Re read what you wrote, particularly the bit "all the victims..." and the reference to having "no guts". It's inaccurate and disrespectful .
Factually, many of the victims did come forward. Your position belittles their bravery in doing so. You owe them, and any lady on here who may have been in that position, an apology.
Own it.
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

You are entitled to your opinion but in this instance it would seem you know strictly nothing about victims of sexual offences. Your total lack of sensitivity is extremely sad.Hotrodder wrote:Seems all the victims of sexual offences don't have the guts to kick up a fuss at the time but happy to jump on the bandwagon, maybe sniffing at some sort of compensation if things go to court?
Have you ever had dealings with - or even talked to - a victim of sexual offences ? Do you have the slightest inkling of how difficult it is for women (and men) to come forward knowing the rough ride they are likely to have ? Do you really think victims come forward for financial gain ? Victims who do have the courage to come forward after many years will be treated very differently and better than they would have been treated years ago. They risk having their lives shredded to pieces in court - in public - and having to relive what they have been through is horrendous. Who can possibly blame them for hesitating ?
All victims deserve to be heard and should be commended for their courage, not belittled and accused of wanting financial gain.
