To anyone getting cold calls and folk turing up offering heat pump or whatever for 1€ by all means listen ask for ID from anyone who turns up and take a pic of it of photocopy it.
Always get a devis, whatever they say.
Then tell them you'll think about it. If you are entitled to govt dosh to do your project do not accept a cold call company without checking them out, and remember most importantly that if you are entitled to help any local RGE company can do the same work, so ask them too to look at your project.

After our Linky was installed I did a bit of a search but never found anything in English. I will have another go sometime.

I am far from sure but my understanding of most of these schemes is that you benefit from state aid / contribution, via your tax office and against your tax payable. With a lot of us old gits, I for one, we don't pay any tax, so am I right in thinking we will not just get a cheque through the post, or that the approved contractor will receive a contribution directly from whosoever is administering the scheme.

@ Hughnique, not all schemes are of the "crédits d'impôts" species. Also regional schemes. Most of them income dependent, many of them only for your maison principale and not for une maison secondaire. The September 2021 information as published by the ADEME.
