Something which I have had an issue with for some time is the ad on TV for fairy dishwasher tabs, the one with the baby on the motorbike. A heavily soiled glass casserole dish is put in the dishwasher, one of these tabs put in to the dispenser, and hey ho a couple of hours later it has not got a speck of anything baked on it absolutely gleaming like a brand new dish. Not my experience still needs washing up by hand.

Having had dishwashers for many years, we have always been happy with the result, but that depends on a few things, a good quality model, use the correct tablet, use rinse aid, I know some now incorporate it within the tablet, clean the filter out regularly and the two spray arms, they use less water than washing by hand, they sterilize the contents, the trend now is to have two of them, there has recently been some research on whether to rinse things first, the consensus is no, its a waste of time and energy, also if you make your own bread, and time things correctly, directly after a wash and dry, put your dough in to rise, the residual heat and moisture are perfect for proofing dough.

- and now you come to mention it how do they get away with showing big fat juicy burgers on the tele when the one's l get look like they've been driven over by a steam roller and what about them telling us that Omnicron is like a mild cold when some people who contract it are ending up in hospital - How do they get away with it indeed

Next time you watch the advert, look carefully at the small message at the bottom of the screen - which says words to the effect that results achieved after several wash cycles.

Misleading or what?

Next time you look at ads for ladies beauty products on TV which claim high approval rates look at the number of people asked. The lowest I have seen is 58 people.

That's what gets me. It's usually something like 75% of 63 people! ......So just their office staff then.

Anti wrinkle cream they show you a woman that looks about 25, either she is 75 and that cream is that bloody good or why does she need it at that age anyway. Best wishes Victor M.
