Mass exodus south!

#1 Post by Spectrum »

While having my morning cup of tea, looking eastwards to the rising sun, I noticed a few aircraft about, four going south one flying north, as I was on the laptop at the time, I went onto my Flight 24hr website and checked, the north bound was the "Guppy" now called "The Baluga" from Toulouse to Paris, as for the other four, one was from Paris, one from Rotterdam and two from Manchester all heading for the same destination, Alicante, what do they know that we don't :?

Round here everyone is avoiding travel, just hunkering down, cancelling parties, family gatherings, even shopping trips. Maybe the planes were empty?

We’ve had fog for two days so couldn’t comment on the flights but we seem to have more people staying in the local gîtes this year.

Huge family party for Christmas in the chateau next door to us, most down from the Paris region. Not a problem for us, they always wear masks and stand clear in the local shops and when we natter at the bins.
If they share germs between themselves I doubt we will get them!
How do people live without at least one dog in the house?

It seems fairly quiet here though we've seen some Parisian and other department registration numbers. I had to deliver something to the tourist office which is beside an outdoor ice rink outside the old part of Saint Malo. I was pleasantly surprised to see that nearly everyone was wearing masks even though they were outside.

Tried to go to the post office, yesterday. Rammed with people, no distancing, but masked. Swore very loudly in French, “ Nom di dieu de saloperie de mer*e, vous voulez tous et toutes le covid ou quoi?” And I left, clapping the door shut.

A fair few more Brit cars out and about.

Probably no connection, but the local site that you can tap in your commune, reported the highest new cases and tests last week.

The more people travel, so the more will the virus.
