Are you playing directly from the SD card Curtis (if so that is probably your problem)? Files are best played from your hard drive. If you still have a problem this may be down to inadequate processing power in your CPU or video card. I tend to use VLC for home video playback - it’s free & pretty forgiving.
Thanks for the reply. I should have mentioned that IT is not my strongest point.
I downloaded the files from the camera onto my computer. And it was from there the problem I described arrived on playback.
How does VLC work ?

Install it from here - https://www.videolan.org/vlc/ - it's free.

Then use it to play the video files from the GoPro instead of Windows Media Player.

It will play a variety of other file formats as well, and is a useful viewer for DVDs, movies and other video files as well. I like it.
