And the purpose of a car is to get one from A to B. You can drive well or drive badly.
So, it's here for good.

I think the matter here is that a lot of TV presenters have got a bad understanding of the English language, Rick Stein for one, is always using the phrase, "the first time I bought my family to Padstow", or something in a similar vein, and he is far from an isolated case. That coupled with the amount of regional accents heard on local TV, sometimes makes it hard to understand what is being said.
The amount of totally stupid ads, Strike estate agency, a prime example, the shouters, put your hands together everybody, I take it that is a prompt to clap, and as for that woman on the masked singer, you can hear her above the sound of everyone else, shouting her mouth off. Oh and not to forget the people that rise up at the end of each sentence.

Its not only the spoken word that has gone to rats. I have often seen ads on ebay, and expat forums for a so-called rare item that is much sort after. This is not a misunderstood pronunciation. They actually spell it that way.
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

Just seen that appalling retort used "my bad". Where did that stupidity come from? Estuary speak?
