One or two primroses beginning to bud but even the snowdrops have not stuck their first leaves above ground.

Are you near us - or on the same flightpath? I posted within seconds of hearing and seeing them flying overhead at 1.54pm. Perhaps it was the same group.

I’m 2 hours (by car) SSW of you, I heard one group and saw the second one, I don’t recall the exact time.

I saw 10 cranes flying NE on Saturday afternoon. First time I have ever seen them in the wild. Made my day.

Oh yes that wonderful noise!

Sadly I haven't seen them for a couple of years, so I live in hope

Heard them overhead here earlier this evening. Such a heartlifting sound! Always makes me smile. :)

As the migrating ones are the "unattached" without young, I always think of them as rowdy youngsters going on their "18-30's" holiday, in the Winter. All excited with the odd half awake few dawdling at the back and getting lost. Returning in Spring with stories of all nighters with the stragglers still half cut trying to keep up. :D
