This evening it's lightly floured deep fried sardines with salty buttered crusty baguette washed down with some Breton cider .

Beef and mushroom stew defrosted from a yesteryear batch cook, c/w potatoes and peas all in a bowl, a one pot wonder.
And a cheeky little snog with a certain Mme Merlot.
Just deciding whether to match my shirt colour to the stew or the wine.
Oooh, decisions.

I hadn't realised it was Shrove Tuesday today and I absolutely love pancakes. Unfortunately, I'm almost out of plain flour so pancakes will have to wait until I next go shopping.

What is your preferred topping? Mine is a sprinkling of sugar and loads of fresh lemon juice.
