I expect those who already live and travel to the big cities already know about this/have one. Not sure when it became obligatory, as daughter has only just been told to apply for one in Toulouse.
It's only 3,70euro to get a sticker for the windscreen, and there's a map on the link to show which cities have made it mandatory.

It's spreading out from Paris into other big cities.
Doesn't bother me in my moggie trav as it's on Carte Grise Collection

How do people live without at least one dog in the house?

Got them for all of ours (all 2s). I have no intention of going into cities but you never know what's around the corner.

It may well do, if you google crit'air images, you'll see lots of pictures - I tried to save a copy to put here, but they're in some odd format.Polarengineer wrote: ↑Mon Mar 07, 2022 10:07 am What does it look like? What I don't understand though, is that really old "classic" cars are exempt - aren't they likely to be higher polluters than more modern cars? Hence, Government help to encourage people to upgrade their vehicles???

No, the German emissions sticker (umweltplakette) is different from the French sticker (the German sticker can be bought at service stations, online and elsewhere at varying prices; when I got mine the cheapest from was https://www.berlin.de/en/tourism/travel ... ne.en.html )
There are different environmental sticker requirements for different EU countries https://www.60millions-mag.com/2019/07/ ... ions-15356 but at least you only need one sticker for each country.
There is no standard sticker/registration in the UK so the registration for the London Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) does not apply for all UK zones. There is a government scheme for some places - Bath, Birmingham, Bradford (charging starts in 2022), Bristol (charging starts in late 2022), Greater Manchester (under review), Portsmouth https://www.gov.uk/clean-air-zones but Oxford has a different scheme https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/resident ... n-zone-zez

We've got them for our cars - but have no intention of driving into large cities

With this hand, I will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never be empty, for I will be your wine. With this candle, I will light your way into darkness. With this ring, I ask you to be mine.........The Corpse Bride

I got one several years ago. Easy and cheap and is there just in case but no big cities on our travel list at the moment.
