Desert Storm?

#1 Post by Hedgerow »

This morning, here in 86150, a yellow sky, and a lot, and I mean a lot, of fine dust over garden furniture, greenhouse, and car. Carried by the rain yesterday evening. Just need a camel now.

Its called the Sirocco, strong winds coming up from the Sahara over Portugal and Spain bring sand with it, its even got over to the s.w. uk.
Local F3 tv has it on now saying that its going to last till thursday, also showed film of Pyrenees snow covering turned sandy by it.

I thought the mad Czar had reached the button, I must have missed the strong wind, hope they don't start sending bags of cement to mix it with

We had a very strange coloured sky first thing but it didn't last for long and there was almost no wind at all. Our car is very mucky too, but we can't blame that on sand - just Status Quo. :?
