retractable mirrors puzzle
My car has retractable mirrors that fold in on locking the car with a remote key. They work fine, except on the two times I have been on a car ferry the mirrors don't retract automatically when I lock the car. Once off the ferry they are working again. It is not a major problem of course I am just puzzled why this should happen. Any ideas?

low output remote's signal.
Hope you wear a tinfoil hat as these signals could be affecting you.

Ooo-er. Some comments seem to have disappeared. My comment along with them. I suggested that the circuits contain a motion detector ( so that they do not retract while driving) the ship's engines will vibrate the deck enough to prevent the mirrors retracting perhaps?

Do you lock it a different way?
With the Land Rover we used to lock with the key on the ferry, not the remote fob, so as not to arm the alarm - otherwise the rocking of the boat sets the alarm off.

Not mirrors, but another locking puzzle. When I've parked our car in certain spaces outside our local Casino, the key fob for central locking doesn't work. Yet, when I park a few lines away (slightly further from the front of the shop), it works fine. Needless to say, I don't park in the "weird" spaces anymore!

Being a casino, I expect they have a mobile phone blocking system to avoid their use for cheating. This may be also blocking your key fob.
Er...Am I on the right forum?
