Lord of the flies
It's that time again muck spreader on the go showering the fields with cow shit, then they leave it so as the house fills up with bloody flies, hundreds of them annoying all and sundry. I don't know if they are on the cow shit or whether they have been attracted by it, either way they are a damn pest. Normally they spread one day and plough in the next, pity the flies don't follow it in the ground.

Get yourself some Red Top fly traps. https://www.redtopflycatcher.co.uk/hughnique wrote: ↑Tue Jun 28, 2022 10:59 am It's that time again muck spreader on the go showering the fields with cow shit, then they leave it so as the house fills up with bloody flies, hundreds of them annoying all and sundry. Despatched from the UK & so far we have avoided VAT & TVA on them.
We use one by the chook house & one by the horse poo pile.
Each year they kill thousands of flies with very few finding their way to the house.

Plastic lemonade bottle (or similar) cut the top off and invert it into the bottle base. Put some sweet liquid in the bottom. Make a hole in either side of the top and thread some wire through to hang it.
Might not look as pretty as something bought, but it costs nothing and works just as well.

I recently paid £21.65 carriage paid, no VAT, (no TVA either) from Ashmoat Ltd , the official Red Top importer/seller in the UK from who I've been buying them for years.

Why not get an commercial fly killer as seen in butchers/restaurants etc, you can get the electric type that gives them a shock or the newer glue board, which is quite, about 40€ upwards, used them for a few years, it doesn't stop the flies coming in though.
