Here they say 4 months after infection. But minimum age 65 unless you pay. So one way or another I will get my 4th in September as well.

After 3 months, protection starts going down and the amount and speed will be different for everyone. We're pretty anti-social in the summer and have started wearing masks again when shopping. Some people actually turn up for a PCR test not wearing a mask .....

We had our 4th jabs last Monday and after a couple of days - Wednesday/Thursday Madame OBR started to suffer with a bad cough, aggravated by her allergies and asthma. She was very bad over the weekend and she went to the MT this afternoon who tested her for Covid. She is positive - my question is as we do not know where and when the virus was picked up will the 4th vaccine still be effective when it is supposed to kick in next week. I haven't tested yet but am exhibiting the symptoms of the flu - cough, sniffles, headache, aches and pains, sore throat but no temperature - I will home test tomorrow.

Are you suggesting that the recent jabs gave you the covid or symptoms, or that you both must/might have had the lurgy before being jabbed?

Hi LAF - No not at all it's just an unfortunate coincidence in our case but we are not sure if the booster from last week will kick in as we cannot be sure where and when we picked up the virus.

The answer to that is yes, the 4th vaccination will still be effective even if the timing was unfortunate. People don't always know if they are infected when they have a jab, particularly if it was picked up from someone who is asymptomatic ... If your OH suffers from asthma, hay fever or other allergies, she's bound to feel uncomfortable.
What did your MT say ? When in doubt ask your doc !
Remember that the vaccinations will not stop you catching the virus, only to give you some protection against the worst symptoms.

I will go one step further than that. Vaccines only work when you have caught the virus - and that applies to all vaccines against viruses.

For the vaccine induced antibody response to kick in, it has to have something to kick in against - namely the virus that has arrived inside your body and is now trying to take over. The antibody response will hopefully stop that take over or at worst reduce the level to which you are infected.

My NHS Trust is bringing back compulsory mask wearing and I am hearing of others
Of course they have done this the day I got my teeth fixed and want to smile at everyone *
