Effects of 'the jab'.

#1 Post by L Austin France »

Me & mrs LAF had our 4th jabs yesterday afternoon .
This morning I'm feeling fine with only a very slight discomfort at the needle entry point to indicate it ever happened whereas my missus is still in bed & feeling really rough with flu like symptoms.

No, but then nor was yours truly.
Same chemist, same jabber did us both.

Different people = different reactions.

FWIW our 4th had no impact on either of us except that OH had a sore arm for 24 hours. First and second jabs no impact on either of us but the third knock OH out for 24 hours - again no reaction from me. 1,2 and 4 were Pfizer and 3 was Moderna but I am not sure if you can really draw a conclusion from that either.

You lucky people - Switzerland is once again behind the curve on vaccination.

As an aside - are the various jabs of the same formulation as when first launched - or are they tweaked as different variants emerge?

Hopefully, my company will provide flu jabs again this year.

Taking a Doliprane immediately after the jab then another in the evening was recommended by our MT and the docs and nurses at our vaccination centre. It certainly worked for us and others we know, but as Exile says, different people = different (or no) reaction.

@niemeyjt
From what I remember the EMA is not due to approve the new versions until August, which will be just in time for the start of round 5 ready for autumn and winter.

We're due to have our 4th jabs tomorrow. I've always taken paracetamol as suggested here but OH hasn't. I get the sore arm (+ sometimes sore throat), he has no reaction!

Mrs LAF's up & about now & playing with her horses.
She says that she's knackered 'cos she didn't sleep much last night but flu like symptoms etc have gone.
I'm still fine, if anyone's interested :lol:
