I'm trying to look at the positives - washing doesn't need airing after being outside, and the bread is rising without any problem.

Airing? But surely the washing is aired if it's been outside? You're making a rod for your own back, Char m'dear. I hope you don't do anything silly like ironing...
It sure is hot today although same as yesterday (36°). I'm forming a puddle on the floor.

Normally it's still damp a bit when I bring it in so needs airing to finish off. Noooo I don't iron anything.
She's read a book done some drawing and I've played on the console with her.

It's been really uncomfortable here, but I've just heard some thunder in the distance and it's gone cloudy now, so at least the sun isn't blazing at the moment. I expect it'll just blow over though.

My idea of ironing I learnt from my dear mum.

Fold washing neatly, put it on the chair with a towel over it, press it by sitting on it for a while.

Of course you need a big bum for it to be effective

I haven't heard of that one, MOTM2. Before coming to France, I'd put clothes under a pile of sheets in the airing cupboard, which did the ironing for me. I haven't ironed anything since we've been in France (31 years).

Another no-ironing one here, gave that up when we came to France.

I’m pleased there are more on here like me about ironing - gave it up 30+ years ago after years of ironing enough shirts each week for my husband and 2 sons - pale blue school uniform shirts for them, ugh!

My husband became proficient with an iron but rarely uses it any any more - he’s got into my habit of smoothing shirts etc down and that’s all that’s needed.

Sorry I can’t send any rain - I’ve never lost so many plants and mature shrubs nor had such straw-like lawns before and we’ve lived here fir 40 years. Even the 50 year old hedges are very unhappy.

Well the 3 days of storms that were in the forecast for the weekend have disappeared. Figured they would. Bedroom never dropped below 29 c last night.
