Flying back to the UK with easyjet
Email from easyjet
We're sorry there will be no fresh food options available on your flight 6096 today. If you would like fresh food for your journey please purchase it in the terminal before boarding (excluding alcohol). We're sorry for the inconvenience."

It could just be a matter of time before the UK will join the single market and customs union soon.

Re: Flying back to the UK with easyjet
I have heard from a source that I cannot verify, that that is the plan. Ensure that the impacts of a full and hard Brexit are fully understood and suffered by the nation to the point that a return to the customs union becomes accepted by all but the hardest of Brexiteers - and they will be such pariahs that no one will listen to them.
This strategy was attributed to a senior un-named Civil Servant but as I say I cannot verify the source of the rumour.

That makes perfect sense to me - I can't see any other reason they're letting the situation deteriorate so much without trying to do something to ease the problems - I know Johnson and the rest of them don't seem to have a brain cell between them, but there's got to be some sort of plan there somewhere.exile wrote: ↑Fri Aug 27, 2021 10:29 am I have heard from a source that I cannot verify, that that is the plan. The email quoted doesn’t really give much detail ,is it the flight from Bristol to Tenerife, the return leg or both ways ? ,could be an issue on the plane which doesn’t stop it from flying but prevents food being served etc etc. It very tenuous to link one flight to Brexit

I assume the food aspect has got something to do with Covid, I seem to recall reading something about easy jet not supplying food to avoid the risk of transmitting it. I was responding to exile's post.Pathca wrote: ↑Fri Aug 27, 2021 1:27 pm The email quoted doesn’t really give much detail ,is it the flight from Bristol to Tenerife, the return leg or both ways ? ,could be an issue on the plane which doesn’t stop it from flying but prevents food being served etc etc. It very tenuous to link one flight to Brexit

I notice the poster says that Easyjet are saying to bring your own food. In fact they say to purchase it in the terminal. I wonder if they will only allow food purchased there?!!

Whilst that made sense, the HoC killed that off when they rejected the Boles amendment.
Moving forward, I am not sure how compatible it is with Boris's dreams of Trade agreements.
However what would make more sense, and would kill a number of birds with one stone, is to join the Common Vetenery Area like Switzerland did.
