I bet they would. And a breakdown on the road could probably be fixed with the simplest of tools and no laptop. :lol:

Would you leave on a trip to the UK in one of them tomorrow?
Yes.
I would prefer to take the 51 year old as it is quieter, does better mpg and the seats are more comfy.
They are regularly checked over, I would still of course check tyres, levels of fluids and lights - as I would hope you would too.

I drove each of them back from the UK after purchasing them, on my own, after a night on the Portsmouth - Le Havre ferry, then the 450 miles back here in time for a drink in the bar before supper.

Fixit rides his bikes, 1946 Peugeot 100 cc and 1980 Suzuki 250GT, for fun!

Don't be shy, Liz, do tell us what these vehicles are, please?
My Brother-in-law still drives his Austin 7 'Ruby' saloon each summer, which he bought as a teenager - he is now in his seventies!

I still have my 62 years old Series 2 Land Rover - awaiting my retirement.

Trouble is - who wears tights these days? It's easier to carry a spare fan belt!

Biggles, I am known locally as ze Engleesh lady with the wooden car and the dogs: I drive a Morris Minor Traveller and have been involved with guide dog puppywalking (and adopting retired dogs) for over 20 years
Fixit has a Minor Van
There are two more Minor saloons in the garage, two classic bikes, a bike trailer (towed behind the trav. on bike rally breakdown duty) and a 1979 trailer tent.
There is a pushbike too but that's modern!

@Hotrodder
In my day it was stockings and sussie belts. More fun if needed but it sometimes caused a delay in getting round to the repair ;)
