Soggy Nuts
When I put my nuts in the blender it seems as though they are becoming somewhat soggy and sticky and tend to gather in one section thereby preventing an even result. I have tried a spice grinder as well, same result. I have only used dry unsalted pistachios at the moment, I was wondering if the natural oil in the nuts is causing this. Lovely cooked in with a curry.

Tried putting them I a plastic bag, cover with a tea towel and whack with a filling pin or similar.

Sorry giant faux pas they are Cashews, all that banging about with the rolling pin thanks for the suggestion but too noisy for OH, what with the nuts and a load of desiccated coconut, yummy.

Yes, cashews do produce an oil when crushed or ground and that will be why you are getting clumping in the blender.hughnique wrote: ↑Fri Dec 02, 2022 1:38 pm When I put my nuts in the blender it seems as though they are becoming somewhat soggy and sticky and tend to gather in one section thereby preventing an even result. You clearly need a "smallish bowl" which is more appropriate to your nuts.
Thread drift for which I apologise. My wife and I were in a large pharmacy waiting for a Covid booster when I spotted a surprisingly large display of Durex préservatifs. There were various textures and even flavours but there were also sizes from small to XL. I said to my wife who wouldn't ask for XL or, conversely, who would request a packet of small ones?
Pondering that and looking at the five female assistants passed the time quite quickly.
