What is it about tattos that make people pour indelible ink into their bodies. Everywhere you look these days there are tattoos - mostly on sportspeople ( who probably have more money than sense - but want to show off). OK adorn your body,if you must, with jewelley which you can change but tattoos - I just don't get it.

There are cultures where it's always been done (for example Maoris, where the tattoos had a meaning), but otherwise, I'm not a fan of tattoos, and I think multiple piercings are horrible.
A design can look very striking when new, but when the colours fade and the skin ages, they lose any attraction they might have had originally.
Apparently 20% of French have tattoos, more women than men. Why a woman wants to cover her arms, legs or body with ink beats me too, @ajm, but it's a personal choice like dyeing your hair bright blue or having a curly perm.

Why does anyone feel the need to adopt an ugly fashion? To conform, to fit in with their peers' idea of beauty, whether it's tribal skin marking, inflated lips or rings through their noses
I was looking for new boots recently, this is the ultimate 'must have' apparently. Look out for tattooed, miniskirted, Botoxed 'ladies' in bovver boots coming to a town near you
I just hope to goodness that they don't attempt to drive wearing them.....

Hair dye and perms are not permanent. A tattoo in my mind indicates a thug, drunken sailor, National Front racist or more recently a young female with the mentality of a sheep.Blaze wrote: ↑Fri Dec 30, 2022 10:00 am There are cultures where it's always been done (for example Maoris, where the tattoos had a meaning), but otherwise, I'm not a fan of tattoos, and I think multiple piercings are horrible.

On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

I disagree ! It can indicate someone who has a problem within themselves - depression, loss of self-esteem etc. I have seen this in some people, and when taken to extremes, as a form of self-harming, it's probably a cry for help.
