Does France in Focus have the rudest members?
To be fair LAF did put a smiley on what I thought was quite humorous retort given some of the context from this and other threads.

‘ I felt sorry for the member who posted that he had found a no nonsense drill at a decent price somewhere recently only to be rubbished by many male contributors.‘
I knew of a few men who were very particular about their drill.
One of them showed me his collection of angle grinders.
17 of them!
There was a time that I was envious of other mens tools. Those days are long gone.

Can be humuorous, can be rude too to those it is aimed at. Trouble is that such carachters tend to often follow up such remarks with a smiley as if to cover their rudeness and /or openly laughing at the intended recipient. It's a bit childish in my opinion.

Of course it can seem that way but how else is one to indicate a post is not meant to be taken too seriously.Polarengineer wrote: ↑Sat Apr 01, 2023 10:07 amCan be humuorous, can be rude too to those it is aimed at. I'm sure most folk get the gist that's the case but if not tough! It's impossible to cater for the self-righteous.
Your post, to which you are obviously refering, was self deprecating "but I suppose us " know-it-alls" come in every subject. " so the reply was in the same vein.
Are you Dutch? They are renowned for their lack of humour

This thread is getting a bit ironic.
Leave the Dutch alone they're lovely - my Aunt is Dutch and her family are the most warmest humorous people I've ever met.

Trouble is that Mary is married to Jean a Breton who, like all of his ilk, is very stuck in his ways & difficult to live with.
Ooops! Think I've just generalised out loud again.
