Online tax return is open

#41 Post by Headers »

Time flies. Here we are again! Just done the 2023 first attempt.
I managed to delete all the banking stuff. Had to reinput it all.
Thought I had transferred it all from last year but nope.
The system still doesn’t accept special characters. Their IT dept are shit.

I don't know how you managed to delete your banking information (and I've not looked at the forms yet this year) but Isabelle Want (bh-assurances.fr) sent out an e-mail today with the following warning:
Be careful with 3916 (the bank accounts outside of France) and don’t do like me and start filling 3916 before you get to the box 8UU to tick. I lost the details of the accounts! So, don’t touch the annexe 3916 before you tick box 8UU. The 3916 will pop up automatically. And just click on “suivant”, don’t fill in the box where it asks you how many more accounts you want to add, unless you have some account to add to your listing. If you put 0, it will delete your accounts! So just click on “suivant”.

I did the correct order but it wouldn’t let me ‘suivant’ without putting a number in the box. Maybe it’s the interface with IPAD. I’ve re typed them all (9) and submitted. I’ll go and check what I’ve got when my blood pressure returns to normal.

Phew, sounds complicated. Don't forget the 'property' (déclaration d'immobilier) section that has to be completed this year, so that the Fisc can wallop us all with increased local taxes.

Here are the deadlines for tax returns : https://www.service-public.fr/particuli ... tes/A15597
For example, in département 87, it's 08/06/2023

I always forget where to put any pension cash-ins. The form seems to change every year, and what you print out from the previous year is just a summary. Thanks for the link to the extra declaration, @MAD87 . I'm forwarding it on to my holiday home clients, as they don't all seem to have been informed of it.

Our declarations open from 19th April, and this year they're marrying up the online return with our professional regime for calculating cotisations, which will hopefully work! If it does - cool! One less declaration to do ....

Nuts!
My day was going bad enough without someone reminding me about the *"%^~! tax nightmare.
I'm hoping someone announces we can still get a paper form. The website has been a really stressful experience every time, and in the end we still have to get a RDV at the tax office to straighten it out. Last year the cow that sorted it out said the previous year had been done incorrectly. I didn't have the nerve to tell her it was someone from her office that had done it for us.
I only have one pension, one UK bank, and one French bank, no further income or interest from savings, shares, etc. so why do they insist on making it so complicated?
Of course, by the same time tomorrow there will be people posting how easy it is.
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

They'd better not! No-one likes a know-it-all! I have an horrible feeling that if you own a computer (and they know that), you are obliged to submit online. That said, if they keep changing the ruddy layout - and probably not for the better, we're all going to keep making errors! I guess that's not their problem though ..... I'm not rushing to do it this year - there's usually glitches at the beginning, that get ironed out over the first couple of weeks. Deep breath and comforting drink needed before each attempt!

Along with other FAQ, from https://www.impots.gouv.fr/www2/minisit ... rer.html?1

Your last sentence translates to:
If necessary, you can contact our services which will help you declare online or ask your public finance center to send you a declaration by post.

I will have a go at the latter, then play the game of working out what has changed since the last time I saw one.
