Your average Brownie isn’t that cunning
They are encouraged to cheat, though. I was shocked to discover, on my first camping trip, that firelighters and matches were used to get the campfire going. I was soooo looking forward to rubbing two Boy Scouts together....

The late Queen was always refered to as The Duke Of Normandy.

This link explains it.

@Antonia - fellow Channel Islander here.
Thank you Demi. Obviously takes an islander to explain. It's a very peculiar distinction.

Funnily enough my French neighbours seem more excited about the coronation than I am.

The French and Germans go overboard (OTT) about royalty. For anyone interested, T F1 announced that its coverage will start at 9 a.m. on...whatever day it is.
I've just read (out of culinary nterest) about the coronation dessert - a sugar fest if ever I saw one. Bearing in mind that this recipe is for 8, I would think that 7 of them would keel over from instant hyperglycemia. https://www.bbc.com/travel/article/2023 ... ger-trifle

We made the grave mistake of watching the TF1 coverage of the Harry/Meghan wedding. It was unbelievably awful : 2 commentators talking non-stop over the music and the service, dredging up stuff from the past at every opportunity ....
We watched the Queen's funeral on BBC via internet - a far more subdued and respectful commentary by Huw Edwards. We'll do the same for the Coronation.

At our RDV with the tax office yesterday the man asked if we would be following the coronation. He was a bit lost for words when we said we didn't give a sh*t.
How can they be so interested when they dragged their own monarchy to the guillotine?
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

Let's just hope he hides his sausage fingers up his tunic, commonly referred to the royal arsehole

Just arrived at Gatwick Train Station to hear his nibs announcing "mind the gap". Clearly moonlighting to raise extra money to pay for the coronation.
