The last week has been like Autumn here, thick black clouds virtually non stop rain and chilly enough that had the leccie not gone up I'd have put on our portable electric radiator. The sun does pop out from time to time just long enough for the heat to bring up some dampness out of the ground to ensure that it stays humid damp and yucky.
We need some strong winds to clear the air and make it breathable again.

You may be in luck - looking a tad breezy for the rest of the week!

I'm loving this cooler weather, it may not suit the tourists but it suits us yocal locals right proper!

Now you lot know what Breton weather is like. Toughen up, and don't forget to keep an eye on the buckets that catch the drips from the leaky roof.
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

Here it's often "4 seasons in one day" 🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵
The myth is still perpetuated that everywhere in Brittany is wet - what rain there is is often localised and patchy. We often don't get enough and this year has been a welcome change.
Inland Brittany tends to be colder in winter and hotter in summer. Here on the coast, there's usually a breeze, particularly on onshore one in the afternoon which dies away in the evening - extremely welcome when it's "hot". High winds are not unusual all year round so heavy door stops are essential when windows on both sides of the house are open.

Oh yes it is! Got wet at 6.30 out with the dogs and it's still chucking it down here.

No rain here today, but quite chilly. It has been very cool each morning (between 11 and 13c) for nearly a week. Seems very odd to me, but this is our first August here so we don't really know. Looks like things will warm up again round Wednesday of this week.

Very windy and gusty all day yesterday but fortunately it's died down this morning. There's still a breeze though .... and no rain !

sssh it hasn't rained yet today - there's even some blue sky peeking out between the huge black clouds.
However I've just hung the washing out, so no doubt it'll start raining again soon.

Me too, but so far so good. I had to secure the clothes hanging rack with the garden hose to stop it blowing over - hopefully.
