We had T&L for several hours overnight on Sunday at the bottom of 52. Spent a lot of time up reading as two of the dogs brains fall out with thunder. Nonetheless, I took the dogs out at 6.30 (Monday am) and had a dry walk and 19 degrees - fine and dandy! By 8.00 T&L was back and just before 10.00 the electricity went off for an hour and a half.

All calm overnight and everybody slept. Another dry walk and lovely sun rise with the dogs this morning. After breakfast, off to a vide-grenier but as we travelled there we could see the weather coming towards us. We got around two thirds of it accompanied by a cacophony of rumbling and flashes; then the sky opened and it poured drenching everyone inside a minute. This was about 9.30 so I felt sorry for all the vendors but it has improved. Those that stayed (not us wimps) will be enjoying a decent sky and some warm sunshine. Good luck to them and I hope they are having a successful afternoon.

Another cracking storm early this morning. I thought we were going to get away with it, but woke to distant rumbles at about 5:30am. Thought best to go and unplug things before it got worse, and managed to go back to sleep. Then booooooom! Between 6-6.30, it was chaos again! Mad lightning show, lashings of rain, and when it sounded really close I remembered to stick my fingers in my ears as the house trembled with the overhead crack of thunder! It sounded like Mother Nature was really mad! (Who can blame her?!) Thankfully no wind that was forecast. Anyone on the East side from Sarlat up beyond Limoges - look out!

Looks like it's on the cards for the whole of today.

We've had nothing like that up in the frozen north. It's been cool at night and the mornings have had a mackerel sky or overcast with sunny afternoons. There's been the odd shower overnight and it's amazing to see the grass so green at this time of year. In previous years, it's been burnt off leaving just the weeds to thrive.
It's been a strange summer .... no complaints because we need the rain. It doesn't seem to have put the tourists off ....

Yep, started just before 6h00 here. Not nearly as spectacular as the previous night though. Thunder and lightening on a lighter scale but a nice bit of rain. Currently sunny.

Ya! Missed.
Just a distant rumble at 4.30 am and only 3mm of rain, now clear skies.
Look out for the weekend though as three different weather 4casts say 36c.

I saw that. I'm hoping it will be wrong.

I have found that once the forecast gets beyond 2 to 3 days, it is unreliable. So still hoping it will change.

Warm, sunny and dry here. A few clouds but nothing to suggest imminent rain.

To those of you in the Dordogne, my late husband and I spent many years holidaying there, especially in the golden triangle around Sarlat, and we experienced some of the most spectacular storms we've ever seen. I hope to visit again one day.
