Surprised this hasn't come up but love him or loathe him, the Russell Brand circus continues, I fail to see how he can get a fair trial when he has already been found guilty by the media. It always amazes me, in this type of case, that it takes many years for someone to come out of the woodwork, and then loads of accusers seem to surface.

I'd never heard of Russell Brand before the BBC website had him in their headlines.

The problem is that powerful people can suppress individuals and it is only when one person comes out that others feel emboldened. Ditto Jimmy Saville and Rolf Harris. The newspapers will not report the full picture - which will come out in court if it gets that far - and it will be that evidence, not a newspaper report, that the jury will assess. Besides, it probably won't be until 2025 by which time the newspapers will have moved on and jurors will have forgotten the lurid headlines.

You were lucky then 😂
I can’t stand the man but I think that everybody has the right to a fair trial and it’s going to be very hard ,if it comes before a jury ,to be unbiased

Exactly. As I said, powerful people can suppress individuals.

The super injunction ,I believe ,started as part of the anti terror laws so that sensitive information could be kept from the wrong hands however clever lawyers saw another use for it

By all accounts, he's been a pretty contraversial chap for most of his career. He admitted to being a sex-addict when he was younger (possibly around the same time as many of these alleged instances). It must take a lot of courage to come forward and name yourself as having been abused by anyone - especially a popular (to some!) celebrity. I doubt anyone would just do it for fun or fame.

I certainly wouldn't want to be alone with him, or even be comfortable in his presence - he has an unfortunate predatory attitude. But he is good with words, and sometimes funny and interesting to listen to. He just tends to treat women really badly in general - that's well documented.

More and more cases are coming out - some even recorded as being wholly unappropriate, which really won't help him. He's now asking for his fans to support him financially as YouTube cuts his revenue. I can't believe he's run out of money already?!
