I’m enjoying the cool weather this week - but not the terrible downpours yesterday and today - got absolutely soaked to the skin yesterday despite wearing my nice red mac - showerproof only alas. Today I only got moderately wet on the 5 minute walk from town to our apartment. but more than enough.

Two days of steady rain is just what was needed here in Lot et Garonne :) It'll close up the cracks in the ground and give the plants a respite as well as giving me a chance to catch up on the preserving

Yikes! Heads up for anyone thinking of travelling between France and the UK this week. :o Can't believe it - my forecast for this week looks calm and sunny!

Could you give a link to the site you got that infofrom, please?

Chatting with son today & we thought that after the last couple of years we could almost ignore spring, summer, autumn, winter & just talk about the wet season & the dry season.

@demi It's Windfinder. It's as accurate as Meteo France which isn't meant to be a compliment !! It's very approximate and seems to change every few hours !
Here's Nantes for you (but you can look for anywhere, see the charts etc)

Thanks, Blaze. I find Meteo France more accurate than the UK met office!

Same forecast here, I use three sites every morning, "Meteo Blue, Meteo France and XCWeather" also have a Meteo in the garden. If they all agree then that's what we will have, so yes very strong winds very heavy rain, then a rest and repeat, stay safe.

We booked a crossing to Jersey this coming Monday, back on Friday , knowing that at this time of year there's always a risk of cancellation of the hydrofoil due to weather conditions/sea state. Sadly it's looking more and more likely, particularly the Jersey end. The problem is that the ferries only run on Mondays and Fridays though they might run one on another day .....

Bit of a bugger as we were counting on restocking on a few items including a load of paint. Still, it can't be helped.

I well know how bad that crossing CAN be!! Fingers crossed for you. Is UK paint still better than French or just cheaper??
