Fortunately the worst of the storm should pass through the night. Charts show it a little further north than a couple of days ago, but winds will still be strong. The sea state takes time to calm down afterwards. At the time of writing, there's just a very light breeze.

The wind has suddenly got up in the last 20 minutes or so and it's going to get much worse. The barograph needle shows the pressure is plummeting straight down. .....

Max gust for us last night was 41 Mph, 25.4mm of rain, so compared with further North a slight breeze.

What a night. Thumping & banging plus very loud wind noise starting just after midnight.
Power went off at 0100hrs so couldn't see what was going on using cameras & certainly wasn't venturing out to look.
Power back on at 0500hrs & relieved to see serre still there.
Got up as soon as it was light enought to see & found one of our trees down blocking road so shoved it towards ditch to allow traffic to pass . None came as apparently road blocked at both ends by other trees.
In the garden an apple tree completely uprooted & our lovely olive tree snapped off at base.
Lots of horse fence piquets down but nags still around.
No mobile signal available but miraculously satelite dish still aligned & working.
All in all it could have been worse.
No buildings damaged & nobody hurt.

One hell of a wind last night but fortunately no damage or loss of electricity here. Our hamlet is having it's cables buried early next year. There were gusts of 158 kph recorded in Saint Malo, fortunately a bit less here.
Greenhouse still intact.
The noise was incredible and one of our bedroom shutters came loose and the banging woke us up. We left the old ones in place when we had a solar powered roller shutter installed. It's a very wide window and the old shutters were always difficult to open/shut when windy, which it often is here.
I'm supposed to be playing at a gig tonight but with torrential rain forecast as well as wind continuing, it may well be cancelled.
We decided last night to postpone our trip to Jersey ....

The above link gives you an idea of the storm's path. First fatality declared in France, and 207km/h winds. Tornado reported in Guernsey and the Gironde. Jeez, this is supposed to last three days!

Glad you OK and back online so rapidly - seeing 100MPH+ on the meteo it must have been scary.

Damn you Ciaran.
We took 15 years to grow this olive tree & you took it away in 15 minutes.

Internet OK once 'leccy was re-established about 0500hrs. Underground cables probably helped.
Not so much scary as apprehensive. We'd done all we could to prepare for the storm & then it was in the lap of the gods. Bit of a bugger when we lost power as I'd focused our 6 cameras on the bits I considered the most vulnerable including one inside the stable the nags use. When they stopped working it was Que sera sera so I went to sleep leaving a bedside light on to warn me when 'leccy returned.
At 0500 hrs the light came on so I got up & did a quick recce with no building damage apparent & nags still in their field.
Nothing else to do until dawn when the full damage Ciaran had done to our garden & horse fences was apparent.
Still blowing a hooley with intermittant heavy rain which we're working in between clearing up & putting right the most important things.
