Even president Georges Pompidou (1969-1974), he liked modern art ( Centre Pompidou in Paris), has been seen in this traditional voiture présidentielle on many occasions. Only one Simca now, the rest already Citroën DS, here in Toulouse, May 1971.

Maybe we can change all our old cars over to use hydrogen for fuel.

No idea, but I'm enjoying as much "normal" motoring whilst I can.

On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

There was a Simca theme at the Bressuire historique this year and there were a lot of interesting models on display. I occasionally get to see a late ‘20s Simca/FIAT which is delightful.

an engine should be up front

Even Porsche have conceded that the engine belongs in the middle.

The classic Simca 1100 has disappeared from the roads in Europe, an almost extinct species. Only autumn leaves are falling down once a year, rust was an all year round enemy of the 1100. Survivors still to be seen in North Africa, close to the Sahara.

Do you remember?
