Nope. Nothing to attach it to.
Might be better to replace the pot with an integral cap. I hasten to add that I'm not a builder, but we've had chimney issues in our last 2 houses.

Very little rain fell here yesterday. The grass, though still green, is beginning to look very thirsty and I for one would welcome a couple of days (or preferably nights) of substantial rain.

We have a high risk of thunder this afternoon but not accompanied by rain worth a mention.

I always appreciate well meaning suggestions. Thanks, but there is no chimney pot in this case. If there was I could have just popped an upturned bucket over it. The chimney has a rectangular opening about 30 x 60 cm at the top. Absolutely nothing of that size is available off the peg so something specially fabricated and cemented in place to pass the flue liner up through that.
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

We had light drizzle from the get-go today. I waited for it to stop before going out to do my outdoor chores, but the rain almost immediately starting falling again, more heavily than in all the time I'd been waiting for it to stop. So I parked the tractor and came back inside to put on something warmer and waterproof. In the end, I gave up. It's here for the day and it's needed but I wish I could have had just one dry hour.
