Weather ... again

#71 Post by Blaze »

We were hoping to go off in the caravan for 2 or 3 days next week, but having seen the forecast ...... erm, no, we'll wait.
What we have noticed with all this rain is just how much the plants and shrubs have appreciated it (the difference in growth is amazing). But then so have the weeds.

"No, no, no parking in the lower fields" (Vicar of Dibley!) Riverside paddocks are outwash plains again - first time it's been this bad since we arrived in 2004. The river Isle runs between the line of trees on the right hand side (normally!). I took this from the corner by our house - thankfully upper side of the road.

It's burst it's banks and is naturally finding the shortest route across the fields.

The Charente did this in the very wet spring 3 years ago - the first time we'd ever seen it in 20 years. Strangely the rain must have been different in some way this year, because although the level is high the river has stayed within its course.
