It always amazes me (why at this point, I don't know), that Meteo France cannot seem to forecast the daily weather correctly, God forbid tomorrow or the next day.

This morning (round 6h30) they said to expect brume, some clouds, then sunshine. It's been pouring rain since 7h00.

Yes, the Meteo says light rain and needless to say it's hammering down!

We had a warning message from our insurers Saturday telling us about a violent thunderstorm that would hit on Sunday afternoon. Sunday arrived presenting a bright sunny day offering an opportunity to sit outside in the afternoon and enjoy a beer watching the wildlife. I put off mowing the field until today, when I discover it is another French holiday so unable to mow due to noise.
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

Totally agree, with all of the modern tech. the meteo can't ever get it right.
I have three local meteo's on my tablet and they never agree.
Besides that it's hissing down here.

I have posted before but have any of you tried www.yr.no ? Norwegian weather forecast service. Bottom right of the page, you can change the language to English and then set the location to just about anywhere in France. It certainly manages our tiny commune of around 250 souls.

It was recommended to me by cave diving friends who use it as being more accurate than local forecasts. I also find it generally more accurate than meteo.fr who have difficulty with our admittedly complex area. We are subject to 4 different regimes and which one wins out can be tricky - Atlantic, Mediterranean, Continental and Alpine.

Looks very comprehensive, Exile. I've saved it so will see how it performs.

Saved it too Exile. It can't be any worse than Meteo France, hopefully better. :)
