Frodo
I've spent much of the day researching renal support diets and comparing different brands of wet foods. He's never had wet food which is more supposedly likely to prevent dehydration. The parameters for the ratios & % of various nutrients is exact and the reasoning behind the formulae is quite scarey.
I hope your boy is experiencing a long spell of feeling good.

Frodo
Poor little man. He has barked and cried himself into a state of complete and utter hoarseness and his black nose has been scraped raw on the cage.
He's really too stressed to eat or drink except when we appear. Today he again ate ravenously and drank a whole (small) bowl of water. Every day at home he has a small Dentastix which he takes routinely into his bed to eat. He didn't know how to deal with that today because his bed wasn't there to take it to! In the end he chewed it up on my lap.
The drip is doing its job in bringing down the Creatinine and Urea levels. Just a little bit more and Jerome will be happy to let him come home to get his voice back. But for the time being I think the staff are quite relieved that he's suddenly so quiet!

Frodo
He's so much more like Frodo today. He had two homemade kidney support meals today; diced home cooked pork, cooked carrot, green beans and broccoli, cooked rice drizzled with olive oil and hiding two treatments which he didn't even notice. He enjoyed eating instead of being challenged by a Purina Renal Diet mush which he clearly had no intention of eating. His poor nose had all the skin taken off it by the metal cage and it's now peeling and completely bloodied. I know the staff at the surgery did their level best, but there's no place like home. Today he's back to being himself.
