Pouring down here for most of the day and the temp around 22 I reckon. But I rushed up to the pond for my customary afternoon 4 lengths and felt really invigorated afterwards. Even felt good enough coming out to spend a few minutes skimming the leaves from the surface before rushing back inside to get dry. :D Couldn't see the point of taking the towel with me only to get wet before I could use it.

Funny thing is, although we are surrounded by trees, and I notice this because of lack need to skim the pond, we haven't had a lot of leaves dropping yet.

Our leaves around here are all still green as well, must be down to all the rain we've had this year and the warm spell we had at the end of August beginning of September.

It's still raining today, but it's turned cold now. :(

Strong winds overnight, 24mm of rain and still raining cats and dogs, but we are high up so no danger of flooding, or as my late father used to say (If it floods here its b******* deep elsewhere)

Looks like we are in for some weather tonight and into tomorrow.

Orange alert for storms. Looking at lightningmaps.org the large area* has shown the number of strikes rising for 400-ish 45 minutes ago to 580/minute now and gradually heading east.

* Bordeaux - Parma W-E and North of Geneva - Spanish border N-S

The forecast was correct this time, just had huge storms all evening, now moving over to the east.
Its a beautiful morning after the storms seemed to rain a lot but we only had 6mm.

That certainly was some light show! Looking on the lightning map, it covered quite an area too. Son managed to get a couple of videos of lightning racing across the sky!

Overall, we get very little rain here on the coast. It generally goes to the north or south of us. We did get a downpour at about 5am this morning, accompanied by a couple of rolls of thunder, but it didn't last long. It's the first rain for about a month.
