Drug problem worsening in France

Anyone here seen the felixstowe container terminal? A microscopic number of containers get opened for inspection. I believe the majority of drugs enter UK in containers while the underfunded authorities waste their time at airports looking up travellers' backsides for small amounts.

Just about any container terminal. When ships arrive with 23,000 TEU - twenty foot (container) equivalent units - it is hardly surprising that physical inspection levels are low *. The authorities do however rely heavily on intelligence as well as using dogs - as far as that is practical with a container at the top of a 6 high stack.

* Remember that inspection is not just for drugs but also for counterfeit and unsafe goods.
