It was all organised. We were going to spend the day with our French neighbour and her family. Great.
Then one of them rang. Can’t get 26/12 off work so could we go to theirs instead. I said yes no prob, we’ll bring our neighbour and come back in the evening.
She was happy.
OH has just flat refused to go out on Christmas Day. (He managed it for the past two years)
So now I have to go and tell my neighbour the bad news.
I HATE Christmas.

Christmas Day Crisis
In view of your recent post about your OH's hearing, perhaps he doesn't want to go out if it means trying to keep up with a conversation round the table. Does he have any difficulties with the language ? Sometimes the acoustics in a room (particularly in some restaurants) are not good and having a conversation with a buzz all around can be difficult. Neither OH nor I have a problem with hearing but a crowded room with bad acoustic can be difficult.

If your husband has refused, then it is up to him to explain to the neighbours.

Christmas Day Crisis
I have spoken to my neighbour. She seemed to understand. So the ball is in the others court now to sort themselves out. If I left it to the OH he’d probably tell her on Xmas eve.
