From a V-8 engine in the USA to the UK, only 6 cylinders inline with the help of a Lucas mechanical fuel injection system. Not a double SU-carburettor. The Triumph TR 6.

Thanks to RA for the links. The one that describes the flathead Ford engine gives full detail to the question posed by Curtis. I owned two early Fords retro-fitted with a later version (1940) and can attest to the reputation of their tendancy to overheat.
The first was a 1929 Sport Coupe (no photo) with a two-blade original fan which use to boil like a kettle in slow traffec, and a 1932 roadster that had once been used at "the lakes" and therefore had no use for such fripperies as a fan at all and I discovered had most of the blades on the water pump cut off to avoid any wasted energy. Entirely unsuitable for street use so I let it go.

Surely those cars brought a bit more variety to the traffic scene. These days it's hard for me to distinguish between the various makes. Take a pickup like this one, outside the big cities in the US a run of the mill appearance. Or go shopping with this one. Not to mention the other more or less streamlined designs. Altough this one has still a real nose.

True enough. This one certainly w

as easy to distinguish. I would have a hard time getting in and out of it today.

A nice McLaren in LA, also for a more flexible generation.
