In our hamlet there is two houses and a parcel of land thats been on the market for 4/8 years  even after a 30k price drop. All the illegal immigrants do not get paid benefits, and only have emergency access to the NHS until they have been granted the right to stay, so in ten years another million + will be taking money out of the UK honey pot without putting a single penny in, its our taxes and our parents taxes and our off springs taxes which will go to these people, and less for the likes of yourselves.

Spectrum, Well said and I am delighted you have the balls to air your view. On another forum dealing with the subject of ex pats moving back to the UK, I merely said that I would be better off getting a dinghy out of Calais, God I was labelled a supreme racist, full of hatred, and I would fit in in the deep south of America. It has to be the government ineptitude and inefficiency that leaves us in this situation, and that old adage abut trekking right across Europe and beyond, being fleeced of thousands of pounds to get in a dangerous boat, why. When they do finally arrive in the UK they haven't got a pot to go in, and half the passports have disappeared, they might get emergency treatment at the NHS, but I feel for sure they are given some sort of accommodation and nourishment. Meanwhile British pensioners are put at the back of the queue, I don't want to ponce where it is not necessary but my entitlement to relief must take priority over some Albanian gangster, illegally entering the country.

And it has been reported that at least one of the illegals was found to be running a trafficing operation from his hotel room in the UK, paid for by the UK government. And nobody answers the question of why the large majority of these people are men, fleeing some contrived upset in their own country and leaving their families to suffer there.
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

Oh dear. I think it's difficult to comment on the immigration situation. We have no idea of what's really going on, the right wing press pedal crap to cause dissent, not that you can believe anything that's been written or said anywhere now a days.

When my daughter was at lycée one of her friends mother believed that all the brits coming over where being paid by the UK government and where all getting free health care and RSA, not having to pay tax d'hab or taxe foncière, which of course was absolute rubbish, so as an immigrant over here I take anything I read or hear about immigrants anywhere with a huge pinch of salt.

With all the turmoil going on around the world at the moment it's not surprising people are wanting to find somewhere safe to live really, and as there doesn't seem to be a legal route to the UK it's not surprising that people (and they are people) try more desperate measures.

As these sorts of topics get misconstrued and heated, it's probably best to move on. Thanks.

If anyone has got any info that might help hughnique with his move back to the UK please feel free to post it on this thread.

Just to be clear if Char will allow this post, the information I have outlined has come from a family member who is quite high up in the dizzy heights of Social Services, they know what,s really going on.
