We have been looking, to get an idea of what might be available on the rental market, found a three bed detached bungalow in Whitstable, absolutely perfect and at £1650 a month very reasonable, unfortunately too early for us as we are not anywhere near a position to commit. Lets hope it comes on the market again when we are in a position to take it on, hopefully they allow cats, albeit 2 of ours are 17 and under veterinary care long term
Great place Whitstable, lived there for a few years about 20 years ago. Hope it all goes well.

Oh dear. I think it's difficult to comment on the immigration situation. We have no idea of what's really going on, the right wing press pedal crap to cause dissent, not that you can believe anything that's been written or said anywhere now a days.
When my daughter was at lycée one of her friends mother believed that all the brits coming over where being paid by the UK government and where all getting free health care and RSA, not having to pay tax d'hab or taxe foncière, which of course was absolute rubbish, so as an immigrant over here I take anything I read or hear about immigrants anywhere with a huge pinch of salt.
With all the turmoil going on around the world at the moment it's not surprising people are wanting to find somewhere safe to live really, and as there doesn't seem to be a legal route to the UK it's not surprising that people (and they are people) try more desperate measures.
As these sorts of topics get misconstrued and heated, it's probably best to move on. Thanks.
If anyone has got any info that might help hughnique with his move back to the UK please feel free to post it on this thread.
Thats's interesting Char , because in my part of the Allier, the story is that the Dutch Govt. are paying citizens to relocate to other areas of Europe.
